It's Time For Secret Families!
We have decided to do secret families again in the Mountain Green Ward. For those who have participated in the past, it's a really FUN way to do something for the upcoming 3 months!
For those of you who are not aware of what signing up for a "secret family" means, I will explain. You will be randomly assigned another participating family in the ward. You will do something AT LEAST ONCE a month for them in October, November, and December. It doesn't have to be anything spectacular or grand. Be creative! For those of you with kids, it's a great opportunity to have them make something fun, bake something, or put together some fun basket of goodies. You either can secretly drop it off at their home, or you can call me and I will deliver it. I delivered several last year, and it was fun seeing what some of the cute things people came up with were.
For those of you on the fence about whether or not to do it...just try! Just be sure to remember to do your family at least once a month, so your family doesn't get left out. In turn, someone will have your family! It's so fun to have that secret surprise come every month! I even have a system down so I don't know who has our family. I put all of the names in a hat and write a number on different envelopes. I draw a folded families' name out of the hat and put it in a numbered envelope. Then I write down the number with the paper, and randomly put someone on the list. I'm not sure if that makes any sense, but it worked great last year. I still have no idea who had us last year, but we loved it! It was fun to be able to participate, but also to have a record of who has who, just in case it is needed.
If you are interested, please leave a comment with your name. I will also be sending around a sign-up sheet in Relief Society, Primary, and Young Women a week from Sunday (due to Stake Conference). I hope you all participate! It's a blast!
